UPPER MOUNT INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

8. Attach three hub segment braces (item 6) on each corner of hub
segments using 10 bolts (item 100), 20 washers (item 101), and 10
nuts (item 102) on each brace.
9. Attach rear left brace (item 7) and rear right brace (item 8) using 13
bolts (item 103), 26 washers (item 107), and 13 nuts (item 108) on
each brace as shown in Figure 3-6.
10. Secure elevation jack plate (item 3) braces to hub using 5 bolts (item
100), 10 washers (item 101), and 5 nuts (item 102).
11. Secure top and bottom of hub segments using 8 bolts (item 106) on
top, 8 bolts (item 104) on bottom, 32 washers (item 107), and 16 nuts
(item 108) as indicated in Section B-B, Figure 3-6.
12. Secure middle of hub segments using 40 bolts (item 104), 80 washers
(item 107), and 40 nuts (item 108) as indicated in Section B-B,
Figure 3-6.
13. Ensure upper and outside seams are even then torque all hub
assembly fasteners as follows:
1-inch Fasteners 600 ft-lbs (813 Nm)
3/4-inch Fasteners 260 ft-lbs (353 Nm)
1/2-inch Fasteners 76 ft-lbs (103 Nm)
Perform the following procedure after installing the rotating frame
and the elevation actuator. Hub Installation
WARNING
__________________________________________
The hub assembly weighs 8000 lbs (3629 kg).
Use extreme care when hoisting the hub
assembly into position.

1. Using hoist, lift hub assembly (item 6 in Figure 3-1) to top of mount
and attach hub elevation pivot brackets to rotating frame clevises
using two pivot pins (item 7 in Figure 3-1) and four retaining rings
(item 101).
2. Use a come-along or some other means to pull elevation actuator
clevis over to meet blade on hub.
3. Attach hub elevation drive bracket to elevation actuator plate (item 3
in Figure 3-6) using clevis pin (item 11 in Figure 3-1) and two
retaining rings (item 101).
4. Pivot hub about elevation axis using drive assembly so that top of
hub is horizontal.
