Perform the following procedure to install the azimuth drive
assembly. (Figure 3-1 contains installation information and Figure
3-4 provides the azimuth drive/clevis assembly information.) The
azimuth drive can be installed later, if desired, so that the reflector
installation can proceed. It can also be installed during the
reflector installation. AZIMUTH DRIVE
INSTALLATION
1. Attach azimuth drive mount (item 5, Figure 3-1) using:
a. Eight bolts (item 104), two washer plates (item 15), and two nut
plates (item 14) as identified in left view on sheet 5.
b. 10 bolts (item 113), 20 washers (item 103), and 10 nuts (item
109) as identified in right view on sheet 5.
c. 2 bolts (item 104), washer plate (item 17), and nut plate (item
16) as identified in view A-A on sheet 5.
2. Attach knee brace plate (item 21) using 10 bolts (item 105), 20
washers (item 107), and 10 nuts (item 108).
3. Using hoist, lift azimuth drive assembly (item 8 or 23) and attach
assembly to azimuth drive mount as illustrated in Figure 3-1 using the
following procedure.
a. Grease and insert azimuth clevis pin (item 11) so that azimuth
drive anchor (item 2) is attached to azimuth drive assembly (see
Sheet 2 of Figure 3-1). Secure pin with two retaining rings (item
101).
b. Rig azimuth drive assembly by eye-bolts on bracket and motor
and by choking the protection tube with a nylon sling so that it
can be picked up level.
c. Insert protection tube through azimuth drive mount and move
choker past azimuth drive mount once choker reaches it.
d. Secure azimuth drive to mount as illustrated in Figure 3-1 using
26 bolts (item 106), 56 washers (item 107), 28 nuts (item 108).
e. Remove 12 bolts from top of mount for location of azimuth drive
anchor (item 2). Save bolts for securing anchor.
f. Grease and insert two anchor pins (item 3) to secure azimuth
drive anchor. Secure anchor using 12 bolts previously removed.
g. Remove eye-bolt from drive bracket and install a 3/4-10 x 1 1/2
inch hex head bolt.
h. Install elbow and breather vent on highest reducer plug.
4. Remove hoist from azimuth assembly.
