OPERATION

20. Carefully install LSR drive channel in position at other side of access
hatch by aligning coupling onto LSR shaft while installing previously
removed screws between channel and azimuth bearing. Be sure
coupling clamp is on coupling.
21. Rotate LSR shaft until antenna controller shows a reading that is 60°
(±0.1°) off from recorded reading and tighten coupling clamp.
NOTE
The limit switch strikers inside the LSR package will only
permit rotation in one direction from the initial position.
22. Open cover to LSR package.
23. Loosen servo clamps securing resolver to mounting plate and rotate
resolver (only) back 60° until antenna position controller reads the
value that was recorded before LSR was disabled. This procedure
will require some back and forth rotation to get resolver into the
proper position (within about ±0.005°).
24. Tighten servo clamps on resolver and reinstall cover on the LSR
package.
25. Remove stow pin by slightly jogging the drive, if necessary.
26. Take out any remaining azimuth realignment error by recalibrating
antenna position controller using recorded value of azimuth position.
The azimuth drive should now be operational again.
27. Move antenna back and forth in azimuth, as required, to install all
remaining bolts.
28. Check azimuth drive by moving to new extremes of travel and make
sure limit switches are properly set.
29. If it is necessary to move still further in azimuth to reach the desired
position, go back to step 4 to complete another sector change.
