The following procedure describes the installation of the
waveguide for the Model 8118 4-Port Feed. INSTALLATION OF
WAVEGUIDE
1. Install long feed can waveguide (item 2 in Figure 4-11) and short
feed can waveguide (item 3) to feed using crossguide coupler (item 1)
on each flange.
2. Install waveguide tray (item 11) by removing appropriate 1/2-13
bolts, laying waveguide tray into place, and securing lower
waveguide tray using 1/2-13 bolts previously removed. Secure upper
waveguide tray using 2 bolts (item 107), 4 washers (item 108), and 2
nuts (item 109).
3. Install waveguides (item 3 to 9) using flange gaskets (item 104) with
8 screws (item 100), 16 flat washers (item 103), 8 lock washers (item
102), and 8 nuts (item 101) at each flange as illustrated in Figure
4-11. Use the following procedures to secure waveguide.
a. Secure waveguides to hub and in cable tray as illustrated in
Figure 4-11 view C and the following procedure:
(1) Install top waveguide hanger (item 13) to hub using 2 screws
(item 114).
(2) Install bottom waveguide hanger (item 14) to hub using 2
bolts (item 107), 4 washers (item 108), and 4 nuts (item
109).
(3) Install waveguide support spacer in waveguide using 2
adjusting rods (item 17), 6 washers (item 106), and 6 nuts
(item 105).
b. Secure waveguides to upper rotating frame as illustrated in
Figure 4-11 view B and the following procedure:
(1) Install top waveguide hanger (item 13) to frame using 2
screws (item 114).
(2) Install bottom waveguide hanger (item 14) to frame.
(3) Install waveguide frame spacer (item 16) in waveguide using
2 adjusting rods (item 18), 6 washers (item 111), and 6 nuts
(item 110).
c. Secure waveguides to lower rotating frame as illustrated in
Figure 4-11 view D and the following procedure:
(1) Install top waveguide hanger (item 13) to frame using 2
screws (item 114).
(2) Install bottom waveguide hanger (item 14) to frame.
