Windscreen
The windshield should be one of the last things installed in the fuselage as it will
restrict many operations in the cockpit area. Make sure you have planned the rest of your
final assembly before securing the plastic in place.
The windshield must be installed using the same techniques used for installing the
back windows. The only change recommended is the use of two ply BIDs for retention,
in this case to insure against added loads and larger size of this panel.
SEAT BELT ATTACH POINTS
The hard points for seat anchor belt installations must all have been inserted during
previous fuselage assembly operations, and must be ready for the following steps. If any
of the domains referred to in the steps below do not have the necessary high density core
materials installed, and BID reinforcement layers applied, then these should be done at
this time. Anchor bolts for the rear seat straps should have been installed in the bulkhead
behind the luggage area, and straps can be mounted to these bolts at this point using the
supplied 1/4 inch bolts, castellated nuts, dowels and washers. The front seat handles are
anchored to the roof frame. It might be a good idea to place the strips of paper or plastic
bag as you complete these steps, to avoid embarrassing or messing them up in subsequent
operations.
