with a push/pull actuation stick. This cleans the aircraft’s aerodynamics, eliminating
external cables in the rudder actuation.
This horn is manufactured from a 1 inch section of “U” aluminum section from the
channel provided in the kit. Refer to the attached figure for dimensions and configuration
of this horn (this horn was likely manufactured at an earlier stage in the experimental set-
up during the preparation of the 185 cave).
This horn rotates on self-lubricated bushings provided in hat shape. If the bushings
do not have a tight fit in the bore, a drop of epoxy or one of the locktite compounds will
secure them in place. Mount the horn for both support angles (KIS-3) with a #10 screw
with a washer between all friction surfaces, and secured with a castellated nut to give
freedom of movement with minimal backlash. Position the assembly in frame 185 on the
front face of the horizontal stabilizer (as shown in the attached figure).
If the rigid point in this cave has not been previously installed, complete the
operation at this time by installing a 3 by 3 inch 1/4 inch thick section of plywood and
plug with 4 layers of BID as mentioned above. Drill and assemble with #10 screws and
nuts. Locate and
