The mounting pins of the two
blocks on the left (pilot side) will also
mount the arms for the brake cylinder.
Manufacture these 1/8 inch thick
aluminum angle arms provided in the
kit. The smaller arm will be installed
on the left side for the left leg brake,
the larger (wider) arm will be installed
for the right leg brake. Use the figure
below to manufacture the arms, using
the blocks
rudder mounting as in the sketch to ensure proper fit through the pin holes.
Position the blocks on the floor
panel (with the hard points installed)
using the rudder mount or other ¾-
inch pipe sections, and use the blocks
as a drilling sketch for the eight pins
(#10-32 hex head screws with about
2 ¼ inches long - AN - 3
22a. Use the attached pins to
secure the flat nuts (K 1000 – 3). Rivet the nuts in place as shown in the previous sketch.
Temporarily install the support blocks for the tiller pedal mount with the pilot side
brake cylinder mounting angles and the pedal mount for fit and functional testing. The
principle of mounting the brake mounts is to establish a line to the cylindrical master pivot
closer to the pedal pivot line so that the angle of the cold pedal changes more naturally
for the rider. This becomes significantly more difficult if brakes are also added.
