CRUISER FLAP PIVOT HANGERS ACTION
The location called to
mount the flap actuation having
assemblies on the rear spar will
result in some interference with
the lower skin and smaller flap
of the skin wing in this area.
This material can be cut out, but
the best solution is to assemble
these pieces aligned with the top
edge of the rear spar (and a
center aligned with this location
of course).
Prepare the torque tube assembly by installing the actuating arm (CS-32) on each
end of the torque tube. These should be installed as precisely parallel as possible to avoid
dangerous eccentric flight loads when the flaps are deployed. Carefully coordinate the
distance between the flap tube brackets (CS-23) in such a way that the actuation arms will
move freely but without excessive end throwing. The recommended way to achieve this
goal is to work on a flat surface and first install an actuating arm at one end, drilling
through the arm and pipe with a 3/16th inch diameter. Two places as close together as 2
#10-32 hex head screws can be spaced apart. install each screw as soon as the hole is
drilled.. Align the other arm with the flat surface as a guide, and drill and install the screws
in the same way. Mark the actuation tube and arms in such a way that they will not be
