6.9 - ROUTING RUDDER CABLE AND
INSTALLATION

Select the push-rod actuator tab mount (part CS-24) from the included parts, and

trim the open tube end such that the nominal length of the assembly will hold the vertical

tube actuating arm torque on the retracted tab (forward ) lever position . Complete this

assembly by installing the AN 490HT8P adapter (rivet in place) and MW-3M8/F34-14

rod end, and install in place. Cycle the assembly through the flap positions to ensure free

movement and no interference with structure or control components.

ROUTING RUDDER CABLE AND INSTALLATION

Measure the length of the cables to provide the desired rudder pedal position at the

neutral rudder position. Install cable thimbles and cable bushings to ensure against cable

wear, and crimp all cable joints with Nicopress clamps in desired position. Using metal

straps with spaced holes, as shown in the drawings, will allow for a degree of pedal rudder

adjustment for legged riders of various sizes, as required at some future time. As

mentioned earlier, the rudder cables will be crossed between the backrest and the rudder

horn. Use some hard nylon tubing to sleeve the cables at the cross over the area to prevent

friction and wear. Screw the cables to one end of these straps, and attach the strap, using

the appropriate holes, to the tabs on the rudder pedals with screws and bushings provided.

Save the cable cut for use with the harness later.
