Checking gas monitor
In this test the gas monitor is tested for its measurement accuracy.
The following accessories are required (refer to Chapter 6.6):

Calibration gas kit Isoflurane containing
CO
2
= 4.5
– 5.0 Vol%
ISO = 1.0
– 2.0 Vol%
O
2
= 30
– 50 Vol%
Nitrogen = balance
Note: The calibration is performed with Isoflurane for all MIRUS Controller,
regardless of the controller’s VA coding.


MIRUS Event Log μSD card

Adapter to connect the sampling line to the calibration gas kit
Perform gas monitor check as follows:
a. Mount the MIRUS Reference MR and perform a Power up Test and a System test
according to Chapter 4.
b. Insert the MIRUS Service Test plug into the connector receptacle until
mechanically locked according to Chapter 4.
c. Change MIRUS Controller to Home screen.
d. Connect the MIRUS Service Test plug (Luer Lock female) with the exit of the gas
flow control using sampling line male/male.
e.
Put calibration gas into operation according to manufacturer’s instructions.
f. The MIRUS Controller needs approximately 20 seconds to stabilize the gas
measurement.
g. Download the event log data according to the Step-by-Step MIRUS Event Log
Dump instructions provided with the MIRUS Event Log μSD card.
h.
Insert the MIRUS Event Log μSD card into a computer and read file "t091.log" in a
text editor (e.g. N+).
i. Look for the following line (e.g.):
GMON_ACT: 1599195 (e.g.) VA: 1.489 Vol% (e.g.) CO
2
: 4.991 Vol% (e.g.)
j. Verify that the values displayed match the values of the calibration gas bottle:
for CO
2
PASS = Value bottle ± 0.2 Vol%
for ISO PASS = Value bottle ± 0.2 Vol%
