2.1.13 Modifications
Modifications to the MIRUS Controller may cause malfunctions, which may endanger the
patient and other persons or cause equipment damage.
Modifications to the MIRUS Controller may only be performed by the manufacturer or by
technical personnel expressly authorised by the manufacturer.
2.1.14 Accessories
The MIRUS Controller has been tested using accessories from the accessory list. If
accessories not on the list are used, this may cause malfunctions.
In addition, the electromagnetic emissions of the MIRUS Controller may be elevated or the
interference immunity may be reduced.
This may endanger the patient and other persons or cause equipment damage.
Only use the accessories specified by the manufacturer.
2.1.15 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
Medical electrical devices are subject to special precautions regarding electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) and must be installed and operated in accordance with the EMC
instructions contained in the manufacturer’s separate “Guidelines and manufacturer's EMC
declaration”.
Comment:
The “Guidelines and manufacturer's EMC declaration” can be requested from the
manufacturer.
Electrostatic discharges
Unless protective measures against electrostatic discharges are used in the following
situations, malfunctions may occur, putting the patient at risk:

When touching the pins of connectors labelled with an ESD warning symbol.
•
When establishing connections with these connectors.
To avoid malfunctions, observe the following measures and train the personnel involved:
Observe the ESD protective measures.
These measures may include wearing antistatic clothing and shoes, touching an
equipotential bonding pin before and during connection, or using antistatic gloves.
Only use approved electronic accessories, e.g. mains power cable.
