3 General description
3-4 MIRUS Controller, SW 2.03.02, Additional Information Master (en-GB)
WARNING Potential patient hazard due to device malfunction resulting from
incorrect ambient conditions
Only operate and store the MIRUS Controller in accordance with the
temperature, pressure and humidity specifications (see
Chapter 8.1).
If the temperature of the MIRUS Controller is higher or lower than
the room temperature (according to the specifications), wait approx.
1 hour for the temperature to adjust before using the MIRUS
Controller.
3.5 Gas supply
The MIRUS Controller does not require any external gas supply. The MIRUS Controller’s
internal gas circulation system allows for sampling gas samples for measurement purpose as
well as transporting volatile anaesthetic agents into the patient’s breathing system.
3.6 Agent supply
The internal reservoir of the MIRUS Controller allows a standard agent bottle to be held on-
board and can be filled by using a proprietary filling system called “Fill port” (refer to chapter 4.5
for more information).
During operation the MIRUS Controller uses this internal reservoir as a source to supply
anaesthetic agent to the patient.
The filling level is constantly monitored, and the device warns if the reservoir needs to be
refilled. This may happen during the Power up test, if the minimum level of 75 mL isn’t present.
For additional visual control during application a graphic on screen gives an idea of the filling
level of the reservoir.
The filling system is agent specific and pressure proofed.
Based on the current anaesthetic agent setting and the current agent level in the reservoir the
MIRUS Controller calculates a “cruising range” in hours of operation left with this filling
displayed on screen.
Comment:
Care for a maximum filled reservoir prior to operation to avoid early refilling while in application.
Storage
The device can be stored with a filled reservoir.
Transport
For transport (shipping) the reservoir must be drained.
