This section discusses print quality problems, what causes
them, and how to resolve them.
Here are some suggestions for maintaining the highest print
quality from your Tally Xpress T9412i and T9412n laser
printer.
•
Follow the cleaning procedures described in Chapter 7,
“Maintaining Your Printer,” see page 59.
•
When the print output becomes light, redistribute the
toner. If the light printouts persist, replace the Toner
Cartridge.
•
Check to make sure Save Toner is not specified in the
Print Quality tab of the printer driver. For best print
quality, Normal toner usage should be selected.
•
Try different adjustments on the Print Quality tab to see
which selections work the best for your particular file.
For example, if your file contains photos, select
Photographic in the Document Type area of the Print
Quality tab.
•
Use only high-quality paper or transparencies.
Solving Print Quality Problems
Problem
Solution
Solid White
If the whole page is blank:
• The Toner Cartridge may be out of toner.
Replace the Toner Cartridge if necessary.
• The Toner Cartridge may be defective.
Remove the Toner Cartridge and check for
damage. Replace if necessary.
Solid Black
If the whole page is black:
• The Toner Cartridge may not be installed
properly. Remove the cartridge and
reinsert it.
• The Toner Cartridge may be defective.
Remove the Toner Cartridge and check it
for damage. Replace the Toner Cartridge if
necessary.
Light Printout
If the whole page is faded or light:
• Check printer driver settings.
The print resolution setting may be set too
low.
Toner Usage, on the Print Quality tab may
be set to Save Toner.
• Clean the inside of the printer (See page
59.)
• Redistribute the toner in the Toner
Cartridge.
• The Toner Cartridge may need replacing.
