THE REMOTE CONTROL
PANEL
Computers running Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, or 2000 can use
the Tally Xpress T9412i/T9412n Remote Control Panel or
RCP for changing printer settings. The tables in this appendix
explain the options available in each of the following Remote
Control Panel tabs
• Information Tab
• Paper Tab
• Print Quality Tab
• Configuration Tab
• PCL Tab
• Advanced Tab
For information about installing the Remote Control Panel
through a Custom Install, see page 20.

The Information Tab allows the user to print the printer’s
special pages to see all the settings and options available and
set in the printer.

The Paper Tab allows the user to select paper size, paper
type, orientation, paper source, and number of copies.
Item Description
Configuration Page The user can print the Configuration Page to see
the current printer settings, as well as view the
configuration of the printer (e.g., memory
installed, options.)
PCL Font List The user can print the PCL Font List to see the
available fonts for PCL5e.
PS Font List The user can print the PS Font List to see the
available PostScript fonts. The PS Font List
button is grayed out if the PS SIMM is not
installed in the printer
Item Description
Paper Size The Paper Size selection specifies the type of
paper to be printed on. The user can specify the
paper loaded for each tray. The default selection
for each tray is Letter. The paper size selections
available depend on the Paper Source.
Custom Paper Size When the user selects to use a custom paper
size, the Custom Paper Size dialog appears, and
the user can create user defined paper sizes.
The user can specify a paper size from 3.15” x
5.80” to 8.50” x 14.00”.
If the user presses the Use Millimeters button,
the unit of measure will change to millimeters
and the allowable paper size will be from 80.0
mm x 147.3 mm to 215.9 mm x 355.6 mm.
The saved paper size will then display on the
Paper Tab.
Paper Source When Auto Select is selected, the printer
automatically selects the right tray based with
the correct paper type.
• Auto Select
• Tray 1 (Multipurpose Tray)
• Tray 1 (Manual) (Multipurpose Tray)
• Tray 2 (Standard Tray)
• Tray 3 (Optional Tray)
The default selection is Auto Select.
Note that the Tray 3 option will only display if
Tray 3 is installed on the printer.
