The Configuration Tab allows the user to configure the
printer’s error recovery, power save mode, and printer
language personality.
Item Description
Energy Saving The Energy Saving parameter specifies the
period of time the printer waits before shutting
down the high voltage power. The energy save
intervals available are
• Off
• 10 minutes
• 15 minutes
• 30 minutes
• 45 minutes
• 60 minutes
The default value is 15 minutes.
Personality The Personality parameter specifies the default
printer language emulator, also known as
personality, to be used. The available options are
• Auto
• PCL
• PostScript
The default value is Auto, which will auto-detect
printer language and use the appropriate printer
language emulator.
The PostScript option is available only if there is
a PS SIMM installed on the printer.
Auto Continue The Auto Continue parameter selects whether to
continue printing after a paper mismatch or
interface timeout error occurs.
The Auto Continue values available are On and
Off. The default value is On.
Jam Recovery The Jam Recovery parameter enables the printer
to keep the current page being printed in
memory until the page passes through the exit
path. In case of a jam, the printer reprints the
page after the jam is cleared.
The available values for Jam Recovery are Off
and On. The default value is Off.
I/O Timeout The I/O Timeout parameter displays how long
the printer will wait for data from the I/O ports
before a timeout error occurs, and the remaining
data is flushed. The available values are
• None
• 15 seconds
• 30 seconds
• 60 seconds
• 90 seconds
• 120 seconds
• 180 seconds
• 240 seconds
• 300 seconds
The default value is 15 seconds.
Device Option Under the Device Option, the user can check
whether Tray 3 (Optional Tray) is installed.
Checking this value enables the Tray 3 entry in
the Paper Size list of the Paper Tab.
Restore Defaults The Restore Defaults button replaces all
selections in the Configuration Tab with factory
default settings.
