Accessing the Controller Board

PRINTER OPTIONS

CCESSING

THE

ONTROLLER

OARD

The printer Controller Board manages and controls all
printer functions. Use the procedure below to gain access to
the Controller Board when installing these upgrades.

•

Printer Memory Upgrade

•

PostScript Compatibility Upgrade

•

Network Interface Upgrade

To access the Controller Board:

Turn off the printer and unplug all cables from the
printer.

Remove the two screws from the Side Cover as
shown

(A)

Slide the cover slightly (3/4 inch) towards the back of the
printer

(B)

Rotate the cover away from printer (make sure wire-
snaps on the parallel port are not in the way), then lift the
cover away

(C)

Controller Board areas for each upgrade option are
shown below
