11.2.2 Fault acknowledgement
This applies to all fault status messages that you do not have to acknowledge or
reset.
No acknowledgement
needed (simple alarm)
Example:
If there is a deviation message, the controller delivers a fault status message.
When the main controlled variable returns to the optimal range, the fault status
message disappears automatically and the plant continues to operate normally.
This applies to all fault status messages that you have to acknowledge and reset.
Acknowledgement and
reset (extended alarm)
After acknowledgement, the fault status message is maintained until the fault is no
longer present. Only then can you reset the fault status message. The fault icon
disappears when you make the reset.
Example:
A frost protection sensor is installed in the plant. In case of a fault, you have to
acknowledge and reset it via the user interface. Only then will the plant restart.
