Setting the Home Position Offset
The Polar® instrument has the home position key on the left panel to let you move the specimen head to
the preset sectioning start position with a touch of the key. Change the home position offset as desired or
according to the height of the frozen block.
1. Press the [Home Position Offset Setting] button on the
[TUNING] Tab Screen.
2. The home position offset setting screen appears.
3. Press the "
"/"
" buttons among the "Value Change" buttons
to change the value of position.
When the button is pressed, the specimen head moves
forward/backward according to the value.
The settable range is -4.0 to 4.0 mm. A desired value can be set
as a multiple of 0.1 mm.
4. Pressing the “Enter” button saves the setting, after which the
display returns to the [TUNING] Tab Screen.
If no operation has been performed for 5 minutes, the setting is
not saved and the screen closes automatically.
5. Physically press the home position key to confirm the set home
position.
The home position key does not function unless the specimen
head is at the top position (position where the handwheel can be
locked). Also note that the home position key does not function
other than on the [SECTION] Tab Screen, [MOTORIZED] Tab
Screen and [TUNING] Tab Screen, and an attempt to use the key
on any other screen will generate an error sound.
