Turning on the Chamber LED Lights
Press the "Chamber Illumination" button among the buttons on the right side of the screen to turn on the
LED lights in the chamber.
Press it again to turn off the lights.
If not used for a specified period of time, the instrument enters the standby mode and the chamber LED
lights turn off.
When the window is opened, the chamber LED lights turn on automatically.
Assisting with Vacuum
Rough shaving and sectioning may leave debris, unwanted trimmings, etc., on the stage. In this case, they
can be suctioned through the vacuum suction port on the stage to make things easier.
1. If the vacuum suction port is not on the stage, tilt the vacuum suction port toward the stage.
2. To operate the vacuum, press the vacuum key on the left panel.
When a given suction force is currently set, pressing this button once starts suctioning at 100% and
pressing it again switches the vacuuming to the desired suction force. Press the key one more time, and
suctioning will end.
If the suction force is currently set to 100% on the [TUNING] Tab Screen, pressing this button once
performs suctioning at 100% and pressing it again ends the suctioning. Refer to p. 1-36 for information
on how to change the setting.
Once vacuuming is started, the status display area shows the "HIGH VACUUM" icon in the case of
100% suctioning or "LOW VACUUM" icon if a given suctioning force is applicable.
3. Suctioned debris is collected by the pre-filter.
4. Connect the vacuum nozzle to suction the debris dropped onto the bottom of the chamber. Refer to p.
2-15 for details.
