Safety Precautions
CAUTION
•
Unplug the power cord from the power outlet and store it while the instrument is not in
use.
For safety, if the instrument will not be used for an extended period of time, roughly clean the entire
instrument, cover it to prevent dust and foreign matters from entering, and store it in a place with least
humidity.
•
Handle the power cord with care.
To unplug the power cord from the power outlet, do not pull the cord, but hold the plug and then pull it out.
Furthermore, inspect the power cord periodically. If any damage is found in the exterior of the power cord,
stop using it and contact the nearest authorized Sakura distributor or representative.
•
Be sure to inspect the instrument periodically.
Maintain/inspect the instrument periodically so that it operates correctly at all times.
Attachment of condensation water, frost, ice or contaminant on the top face of the Cryo Plus and Cryobar or
dirt or dust on the intake port cover may cause the cooling capacity to drop. Also, the ozone disinfection
cycle may be disabled if the window gasket is damaged or has deposits of foreign matters. Inspect the
window gasket periodically according to "Daily Care and Inspection."
•
Pay attention to the reagent to be used.
If alcohol, acetone or other highly volatile reagent or dry ice was used, dry the chamber thoroughly.
Otherwise, the instrument may fail or the interior walls and/or components such as the evaporator in the
chamber may corrode.
•
Keep the window closed while the instrument is not in use.
If the instrument will not be used for an extended period of time, be sure to close the window. Otherwise, the
cooling part in the chamber may frost and cause the operability or cooling performance to drop.
•
Do not put reagent, etc., on the instrument.
If reagent spills over the instrument, the instrument may fail or sustain damage.
•
Do not leave a non-sealed container containing a volatile reagent such as alcohol,
acetone and formalin inside the chamber.
Doing so may cause the interior walls and/or components such as the evaporator in the chamber to corrode
because such reagents will be oxidized with ozone during the ozone disinfection cycle and produce formic
acid or acetic acid.
•
If an abnormality occurs during the ozone disinfection cycle, perform ozone disinfection
again.
If an abnormality occurs during the ozone disinfection cycle, ozone disinfection (generation and
decomposition of ozone) might not have been performed appropriately. For this reason, when an infectious
specimen has been handled, the source of the infection might not have been eliminated. Repeat ozone
disinfection by manual operation. If an error recurs, contact the nearest authorized Sakura distributor or
representative.
•
Do not use tools or foreign objects to force open or to access the interior of the
instrument.
If water, metal, paper or other foreign objects get inside the exhaust port (heat radiating port), or other holes
or gaps on the exterior, fire, electric shock, injury to the user, or instrument failure may occur. If foreign
objects get inside the instrument, immediately stop the instrument, and contact the nearest authorized
Sakura distributor or representative.
