Name of Each Part (Left/Right Panels, Display Area)
[1] Vacuum key
This switch is used to suction air form the vacuum inlet. Pressing this key once applies 100% suction
force, while pressing it again adjusts the suction force to a desired level according to the setting. Refer
to p. 1-36 for details.
[2] Home position key
This key is used to move the specimen head (specimen holder) to the home position (set position to
start cutting). Refer to p. 1-34 and p. 2-11 for details.
[3] R key
Press this key to back away the specimen head (specimen holder).
The specimen head backs away by 10

m every time this key is pressed. Press and hold the key, and
the specimen head continues to back away while the key is held.
[4] F key
Press this key to advance the specimen head (specimen holder).
The specimen head advances by 10

m every time this key is pressed. Press and hold the key, and the
specimen head continues to advance while the key is held.
[5] TRIM key
Turn the handwheel while holding this key to section the tissue to flat surface at a desired trim thickness
according to the setting. Refer to p. 1-31 for details.
[6] Speed adjustment lever (DM only)
The sectioning speed can be adjusted with this lever during motorized sectioning. Raise the lever to
increase the speed, or lower it to decrease the speed.
[7] Motorized sectioning key (DM only)
This key is used to start, pause or stop motorized sectioning. Press the pause key (

together to start motorized sectioning. Refer to p. 1-11 for details.
[8] Power indicator lamp
This lamp turns on when the power is supplied.
[9] System status indicator lamp
This lamp is lit when the system is ready to perform sectioning and other operations.
It blinks if sectioning operation is not possible because the ozone cycle, etc., is in progress.
[10] Sleep status indicator lamp
This lamp turns on when the system sleeps following a manual/automatic shutdown. It turns off once the
system wakes up.
