3.6 Calibration Adapter
There are two types of calibration adapter for the MultiRAE
PLUS monitor. The PGM50-4P or PGM50-5P model has a
built-in sampling pump. Therefore, the calibration adapter
for these two models is a simple 6 inch Tygon tubing with a
male Luer connector on one end. During calibration, simply
connect the tubing to the water trap filter on MultiRAE
PLUS and the calibration gas on the other side.
Alternatively, the calibration gas can be sampled 1) from a
Tedlar gas bag, 2) from an open cup or tube using flowing
calibration gas exceeding the pump demand, or 3) using a
demand flow regulator directly from the gas cylinder.
The PGM50-4 model does not have a built-in sampling
pump. A special diffusion calibration adapter is provided.
During calibration, place this adapter over the front cover of
the monitor and connect the Tygon tubing to the regulator on
the gas bottle.
