SW5-1
H.110 PRECHARGE - This switch allows the H.110 termination
resistors to pre charge. It should be enable for H.110 operation on
CompactPCI in hot-swap applications otherwise it may be disabled.

Enabled
SW5-2
STANDALONE - This switch allows the CPC324’s PCI controller to
drive PCI clock from it’s own internal source when an external PCI
system clock is not available. Standalone should be enabled in
CompactPCI chassis when:
• The PCI bus is not used (i.e. PCI_PRESENT#
1
signal is not valid
in applications such as PICMG 2.16).
• System host blade is not available to supply system clock in PCI
Bus applications even though the PCI_PRESENT# signal is valid.
Standalone - When disabled this switch allows the CompactPCI PCI
bus termination resistors to pre charge. This switch should be
disabled when the PCI_PRESENT# is valid and a system host is
supplying system clock.
1. PCI_PRESENT# serves two purposes. It allows a blade’s CompactPCI bus interface to be appropriately configured when
the CompactPCI Bus is not connected to the corresponding slot. In a hot-swap environment, it partially determines when
the blade must locally manage the handle switch, Blue LED, ENUM# and quiescence of critical blade resources. When low,
this active-low signal indicates that the CompactPCI Bus signals are connected to the corresponding slot.

ENABLE ENUM - This switch is gated with the CompactPCI Bus
PCI_PRESENT# signal. It allows CPC324 to drive ENUM#
2
, which
is controlled by the CPC324’s PLX CompactPCI bus bridge
interface controller. ENUM# is a CompactPCI bus hot-swap
interrupt signal used to indicate a change in blade status. It should
be enabled in CompactPCI hot-swap environments.
• On = CompactPCI hot-swap ENUM# signal enabled.
• Off = CompactPCI hot-swap ENUM# signal disabled.
2. The ENUM# signal is provided to notify the system host that either a blade has been freshly inserted or is about to be ex-
tracted. This signal informs the system host that the configuration of the system has changed. The system host then per-
forms any necessary maintenance such as installing a device driver upon blade insertion, or quiescing a device driver and
the blade, prior to the blade’s extraction.

SW_BYPASS - This switch is a special hot-swap override to
generate HEALTHY#
3
in non-standard systems. When enabled,
HEALTHY# will be generated, but only if the if the CPC324’s hot-
swap controller has established that blade power is good.
• On = Generate override HEALTHY#.
• Off = Generate normal HEALTHY#.
Normal position.
3. During hot-swap insertion the Host System software detects that the blade is present and orders it to power on. The
CPC308’s hardware connection layer indicates that it is powered up and healthy by asserting the HEALTHY# signal. The
system then releases the blade from reset (using radial PCI_RST#), and allows it to be electrically connected.
