Installing a PMC/PTMC/PPMC Module

Warning:

Electronic components on printed circuit boards are extremely sensitive to static electricity.
Ordinary amounts of static electricity generated by your clothing or work environment can
damage the electronic equipment. It is recommended that when installing your PMC/PTMC/
PPMC module in a system that anti-static grounding straps and anti-static mats are used to
help prevent damage due to electrostatic discharge.

Following are instructions on installing a PMC module:

1. This view of the CPC324 shows the front panel opening, the voltage key post and the PMC signal

connectors. Remove the filler plate from the front panel of the CPC324.

2. The PMC card must be positioned with care to avoid damaging components against the voltage

keying post. The next view expresses the proper alignment and rotation to install the PMC card. As
the PMC bezel enters the front panel of the CPC324 lower the card into alignment with the signal
connectors. Insure that the key post hole is properly aligned and press the PMC card to mate the
connectors.

Note: The CPC324 can take two PMC cards or one as necessary. When a single card is
populated the default location is PTMC Slot A.
