Serial EEPROM
The Serial EEPROM is located on the local I2C bus. It is a 1-megabit device that is used to
store the custom Field Replacement Unit (FRU) data. It also be used to store blade-specific
data and records as the need arises. The EEPROM is powered from the PM V3V bus. The
EEPROM operates at the local bus rate of 400 KHz and offers the required 7-bit addressing
mode. The address of the FRU is fixed at A4 by pulling up the A1 input to PM V3V. The
EEPROM can be write inhibited by the PMFRUWEN# line being driven to a high state. The
default state for this signal is false, leaving the EEPROM in a read only state. The bit is
controlled by the ADM1026.
IPMI Commands
IPMI Bus Supported Commands
The Zircon UL PM supports the following IPMI commands that are issued by the system
management bus controller on the IPMBus. The exact structure of the commands is found in
the
IPMI Intelligent Platform Management Specification Version 1.5
. This command structure
allows the PM to support the minimum set of cTCA required commands for the PM to be cTCA
compatible. See
Table 2-9, “Supported IPMI Commands,”
below.
