Installing the CPC324 in a Non Hot-Swap Chassis
Following are the steps to install the CPC324 in a non hot-swap CompactPCI chassis:
1. Quit all applications. Power down the chassis and any attached peripherals.
2. Configure the CPC324 as described in the following tables:
•
Table 3-2, “SW1 Settings,” on page 60
•
Table 3-3, “PTMC A /B Ethernet Port Configuration Options,” on page 61
•
Table 3-4, “SW2 Settings,” on page 62
•
Table 3-5, “SW3 Settings,” on page 62
•
Table 3-6, “SW4 Settings,” on page 63
•
Table 3-7, “BUSMODE Configuration Encoding,” on page 63
•
Table 3-8, “SW5 Settings,” on page 64
3. Select an available 6U, 32-bit (or 64-bit) CompactPCI slot.
4. Cock the ejector handles into the open position and slide the CPC324 into the chassis. Make sure the
front plate on the CPC324 blade mounts flush with the chassis panel opening by using the ejector/
injector handle to firmly seat the blade by locking the ejectors into the latched position.
5. Install and secure the front plate screws (one at the top of the blade and another under the ejector/
injector handle) to secure the CPC324 blade into the chassis. This also provides a chassis ground
connection to the CPC324.
6. Install the appropriate RTM into the chassis in the rear I/O slot associated with the blade slot, if
required.
7. Reconnect any cables from peripheral devices.
This completes the hardware installation. At this point, turn power back on to the CompactPCI
chassis and proceed to any software installation instructions that may have been provided.
Installing the CPC324 in a Hot-Swap Chassis
The following procedure assumes the chassis power is on and the host supports hot-swap
capabilities.
Note: If an RTM is used, the chassis must be powered down to install or remove the RTM.
Only the CPC324 front blade is hot-swap compatible.
