PMEN - CPC324 power management may be controlled by the
CPC324's on board Intelligent Platform Management Controller
(IPMC) or off board by an Intelligent Shelf Manager (ISM) located
elsewhere in the same card rack. Users should determine their
preferred choice of management and configure SW3-4 appropriately
as indicated by the following:
• Enable - IPMC power control enabled. This setting is
recommended for systems without an ISM.
• Disable - IPMC power control disabled. This setting is
recommended for systems with an ISM.
If BDSEL is asserted via a backplane jumper, neither the ISM nor the
IPMC will be able to turn off blade power.
If the IPMC management controller is selected to control power and an
ISM is present in the system, the ISM should not assert BDSEL.
SW3-4 configurations do not disable the ISM from powering up the
blade but may prevent the ISM from turning off blade power if set
improperly.
