CHAPTER 7
OPERATION WITH A PC
(1) Before Operating with a PC
For the rest of this chapter, PC (Personal Computer) will simply be referred to as
computer for clarity.
CAUTION

Do not access the memory card from
Explorer
or
My Computer
. To access the memory
card, use an external compact flash card reader or compact flash adapter

The Operation unit can not be used simultaneously with the computer. They can both be
connected to the Control Unit, but only one can control the Marker at a time.

To use the Operation unit and a computer connected with the USB cable, display the
Operate
screen of the Operation Unit before starting the marker program.
1. Turning the Power Supply ON
Connect the computer and Marker together with the USB cable.
Turn the power supply of the computer ON.
When the computer starts, turn the Marker
Main Power Switch
ON.
2. Computer Settings (for first time users)
Select
Control Panel
from the start menu.
Double click the
Power Options
icon and the
Power Options Properties
window will open.
Set each item as shown on the next page.
