6. How to create a Data Matrix symbol (Option)
The following procedure describes how to create a Data Matrix symbol.
a. Specifications
Data Matrix symbol
The Solid Border (
L shape
) and Broken Border (
Guide module
) are automatically added during
the encoding process.
Data Storage (
Data module
) will change based on the encoding conditions (
ECC and data type
and number
).
NOTE: ECC stands for “Error Checking and Correcting” and is referred to as the
Data error
restoration
function.
If a black module is recognized as a white module (and vice versa) when the
Data Matrix
is
read, an error will be detected. In
Data Matrix
, ECC can be separated according to the type of
dirt.
