T1/PRI and E1/PRI Programming
You can also configure T1/E1 PRI networking using the Networking Wizard. The section here
describes each portion of the networking in DB Programming. For programming information
discussed here, refer to the
Inter-Tel 5000 Features and Programming Guide
(part no:
580.8006).
The T1M or T1M-2 module can be configured for T1/PRI or E1/PRI networking. The T1/PRI and
E1/PRI programming has a field called “ISDN Switch Type” (this field is not present in a module
configured for T1 programming). The ISDN switch types provided for networking are Private
Networking and IP Private Networking. To program a T1M or T1M-2 module for networking, use
the ISDN Switch Type list box to select Private Networking or IP Private Networking.
When the module is programmed for T1/PRI or E1/PRI networking (Private Network switch
type), the system automatically creates a node trunk group. (All B-Channels residing on the
same module are in the same node trunk group.) The system allows up to 3 node trunk groups
per node (one for each T1/PRI or E1/PRI configuration).
The procedure below needs to be completed on each node networking to the other. For
example, you want to network node 1 to node 2. Indicated steps in this procedure need to be
completed on node 1
and
on node 2. Also, all extensions on each node, networked to the other,
must be different. This procedure affects call processing. Do not perform this procedure during
normal business hours).
To configure T1/PRI or E1/PRI networking using DB Programming:
1.
Create the remote node. The remote node is the node to which you want to network.
a. Navigate to the System/Devices and Feature Codes/
Nodes
folder.
b. Select
Create Remote Node
from the shortcut menu.
c. Provide a starting extension and number of extensions. Set the starting extension to
the actual node number to which you are networking. For example, if the target node
number is 2, enter 97002 as the starting extension. Click
OK
.
d. Restart the DB Programming session when prompted.
e. Change the node number, if necessary to the actual node to which you are
networking. If necessary, provide a Description (for example, Connection to node 2)
that adequately reflects this networking setup.
f.
From the target node, repeat
step 1
.
