Assets
Adding and Editing Assets
The process for creating a new asset starts by pressing or clicking on the NEW ASSET button in the Asset Selection
screen. (Editing an existing asset also starts in the screen by locating and selecting the Asset you want to edit then
pressing or clicking on the EDIT ASSET button.)
Assets descriptions include Asset Type and Sub-type, typical fields associated with nameplate information, and custom
fields called
attributes that can be added to fit your organization’s needs.
Test configuration and sequence are also assigned to the asset using the Asset Editor screen.
Defining the Asset Type and Sub-type determines which labels will be used in the screen to collect asset information.
In the following example, AC 3 Phase Induction motor is selected, so the resulting fields are labeled for data most
commonly found on the nameplates for this Asset Type.
After defining asset values in the upper section, you can add notes describing the asset’s typical usage, motor status, or
other information that can be useful for normal applications or testing.

Winding Configuration
When defining asset specifications, one of the parameters is Winding Configuration: how the motor is wound (Wye
or Delta). The nameplate can have information that shows how wires are (or can be) connected. Those values, when
applied to a reference document (such as motor specifications or common motor testing handbooks), can show what
the wiring configuration is. Enter to Wye or Delta in this field as appropriate.
