Testing Your Settings in Automatic Surge Mode

This part of the process involves putting your asset through a normal Surge-with-PD test process.

1. Switch to Automatic Mode to test your asset using the established settings. For this example, 3.5 µs was set for PD

Threshold and PD Events Limit remains at 3. As a rule, you want to see enough PD spikes to establish a practical
value for capturing a valid PD Event.

2. With all three leads selected for test (set in the test configuration) press the START button to being the process.

3. Using Automatic Mode lets the tester do all the work while you observe the spikes that occur, compare them to the

system noise level, and monitor the number of PD Events occurring.

4. You can also observe the recorded levels for inception and extinction voltages.
