Manual Coil Testing

The Manual Coil Test screen is used when conducting coil comparison testing, or when testing armatures. The screen
combines RLZ and Surge testing. Basic pass/fail PD testing can also be conducted.

Measurements are taken from individual coils or from bar to bar on an armature commutator.

An asset must be created and selected before conducting tests because an active test configuration with defined test
references is needed to make proper comparisons between coils.

Selecting an asset also provides the option to collect test data that can, for example, show the test results for a batch/
lot of coils tested.

NOTE: In this application, an asset typically refers to a type of coil rather than to a specific individual coil.
Assets can be created for a coil type and re-used over time—often in pass/fail applications where saving
individual test results is not needed. Alternatively, assets can be created for batches of coils if you want to
save testing information for quality assurance or other applications.
