MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1. KMA 24H Audio Control Panel
Replacement
(1). Locate small hole in face plate of audio
control panel and insert a 3/32 inch
Allen wrench. Rotate wrench ccw,
releasing holddown device; pull audio
control panel from mounting tray.
(2). To replace, position audio control panel
on mounting tray, locate small hole in
face plate and insert a 3/32 inch Allen
wrench. Rotate wrench cw to engage
holddown device. Do not overtighten.
2. Mounting Tray Replacement
(Ref. Figure 201)
Check that all electrical power
is OFF.
(1). Remove connector from mounting tray
by removing two screws.
(2). Remove fasteners and shims securing
mounting tray to instrument panel and
remove mounting tray.
(3). To replace, position mounting tray in
mounting position and secure with
shims and fasteners.
(4). Install connector to mounting tray with
two screws.
3. Intercommunications System Operational
Check − Pilot and Copilot Stations
(1). Check to see that all headsets are
plugged into their respective harnesses.
(2). Check to ensure that all audio selector
switches on the KMA 24H audio control
panel are in the OFF position.
(3). Rotate MIC select switch on the KMA
24H to EXT position.
(4). (LH command T panels only) Press
AUDIO circuit breaker to ON position.
(5). (RH command T panels only) Press ICS
circuit breaker to ON position.
(6). Press rocker switch on pilot's cyclic
stick to ICS position. Speak into
microphone; audio shall be heard in all
headsets. Release rocker switch. Check
operation of VOL control on pilot's
audio control panel.
(7). Press rocker switch on copilot's cyclic
stick to ICS position. Speak into
microphone; audio shall be heard in all
headsets. Release rocker switch. Check
operation of VOL control on copilot's
audio control panel.
(8). Rotate INTERCOM mode select switch
to PVT position. Do not press rocker
switches or footswitch. Speak into
microphone at pilot's station; audio
shall be heard in both headsets.
(9). Rotate INTERCOM mode select switch
to NORM position.
(10). (LH command T panels only) Open
AUDIO circuit breaker (pull out).
(11). (RH command T panels only) Open ICS
circuit breaker (pull out).
4. Intercommunication System Operational
Check − Passenger Stations
(1). Check to ensure that all headsets are
correctly plugged into their respective
harnesses.
(2). Check to ensure that all audio select
switches on the KMA 24H audio control
panel are in OFF position and MIC
select switch is in EXT position, and
that INTERCOM mode select switch is
in NORM position.
(3). (LH command T panels only) Press
AUDIO circuit breaker to ON position.
(4). (RH command T panels only) Press ICS
circuit breaker to ON position.
(5). The steps below are to be followed for
ICS keying switches at all passenger
stations.
(a). Press keying switch ON and hold.
(b). Speak into microphone. Audio should
be heard in all headsets.
