5. Engine Oil Pressure and Torque Gauge
Lines Bleeding and Servicing
NOTE:
For best access to rear of gauge, remove
an adjacent instrument or avionics unit not
necessary to ground operation of helicopter.
Bleed and service as follows; or service and
bleed system with engine operating by
pressing valve plunger until clear engine oil
flows through drain hose into a container.
(1). For Slim-Line instrument panels and
L/H command T-Panels, remove left
instrument panel fairing.
(2). Open engine compartment left access
door.
(3). Attach a 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) diameter
drain hose at bleed valve. Wrap cloth
around gauge line under fitting at
engine and at back of gauge.
(4). Loosen, but do not remove pressure
tube fitting at engine.
(5). Disconnect pressure line from fitting at
gauge (Ref. view C).
NOTE:
During filling of line, do not introduce
any air bubbles into system. Use suitable
pump with sufficient volume to fill entire
length of pressure line.
(6). At gauge end, pump pressure line full
with new engine oil. Force oil through
the line until clean oil flows at engine
end.
(7). Tighten tube fitting at engine and
continue to pump small amount of oil
back into engine.
(8). Install and tighten gauge line fitting at
back of gauge. Keep line as full as
possible during connection.
(9). Start and operate engine at idle (Ref.
applicable PFM, Table 201, Sec.
01-00-00) and check for visible air
bubbles in forward nylon line.
(10). If air bubbles are present, momentarily
loosen fitting at back of gauge and
bleed system with engine running.
NOTE:
Higher engine power setting may be re
quired for adequate pressure.

Comply with all precautions
for ground operation of
Model 369 helicopter (Ref. applicable
PFM, Table 201, Sec. 01-00-00) while
performing operational check of en
gine power out warning system.
NOTE:
D
The Autronics EPO Warning Control Unit
cannot be rebuilt and there is no manuals
available for repairs. The EPO unit can
only be exchanged. For further informa
tion, contact

D
If engine power out warning system mal
function is suspected or reported, perform
following operational check.
D
If system does not function properly dur
ing operational check, troubleshoot sys
tem (Ref. Sec. 95-00-00, Caution/Warn
ing System Troubleshooting). Repeat
operational check.
D
If system continues to malfunction, per
form input/output check (Ref. Table 111)
and repeat operational check.
D
If engine power out warning system is
found to be defective, replace unit (Ref.
Autronics EPO Warning Control Unit Re
placement).
D
Avoid continuous operation of engine be
tween 85 to 98 percent N
2
(406 to 468 ro
tor rpm).
(1). Start helicopter. With generator switch
ON, increase engine rpm (N
1
) above 55
percent and main rotor rpm (N
R
) above
467. Check that engine power out
warning light is extinguished and that
cabin warning horn and headset tone
are not present.
