11. Torque Indicator Calibration
The following procedure is for verifying the
600N helicopter torque gage indication.

Pressure calibrator
(1). Ensure analog and digital torque gages
are installed and operational.
(2). If installed, remove torquemeter line
from pressure transducer (lower
transducer).
(3). Cap open end of torquemeter line.
(4). Open the instrument vent valve and
ensure that the pressure is at zero
before connection.
(5). Connect an AN816-4, or equivalent,
adapter fitting to outlet port on DPI
603 pressure calibrator.
(6). Connect a 1/8 inch (0.3175 mm) hard
line from adapter fitting to pressure
transducer; torque B-nuts to
75 - 85
inch-pounds (8.47 - 9.60 Nm)

(7). Press power display function I/O to
power up the pressure calibrator.
(8). Zero the instrument by pressing “P”
followed by Zero. A message, Zeroing P,
is briefly written to the display as the
operation is carried out.
(9). Turn on electrical power; use an
external power supply when possible.
(10). Verify the INST circuit breaker is
pushed in.
(11). Close the vent.
(12). Using the hand pump, pressurize the
system to 85.5 PSIG (589.5 kPa).
(13). Allow the LED digital display to settle.
(14). Verify that the digital display stays
constant.
NOTE:
Screw the volume adjuster in or out as a
fine adjustment.
(15). Verify that the analog torque indicator
and the digital torque indicator reads
599-605 torque units.
NOTE:
If the torque meter is held at 600
±
1
torque units for longer that 10 seconds, the
exceedance value will be recorded in the
Transcoil Engine Monitoring TRQ gage and
a red LED will illuminate on the analog
gage.
(16). After verification of torque units, open
vent valve to full open to release
internal pressure. Turn off aircraft
power supply.
(17). Remove hard line from pressure
transducer and outlet port on pressure
calibrator.
(18). Depress I/O display function on pres
sure calibrator to power down the
instrument.
(19). Reinstall tube assembly to pressure
transducer and torque line to
75 - 85
inch-pounds (8.47 - 9.60 Nm)
