4.4 Auto-Tuning
The IMPULSE•G+/VG+ Series 4 can perform a calibration process with its automatic tuning function. The VFD
prompts for motor information, and then runs a quick tuning process. Ideally, perform a standard Auto-Tune with the
motor uncoupled from the load. When the motor cannot be decoupled, perform a static or non-rotating Auto-Tune.
NOTE:
Contact Magnetek’s service department if an auto-tune cannot be performed.

CAUTION
The brake output is not energized during Auto-Tune. The brake must be manually released before a rotational
Auto-Tune and reengaged when Auto-Tuning is complete. Ensure no load is on the hook, and that the hook is
near the floor.
