5.3.6 - Maintenance of Seed Distributors
Close the Distributor upper Gate, drain by the lower Gate, remove the Lid releasing the two Wing nuts and
perform the cleaning of its inner part.
ATTENTION:
After any repair distributor of seed box, note the following:
a) Perform the alignment of distribution boxes with the drive shaft. Verify that the helical ribbed rotor is
not forcing the carcass of the distribution box;
b) The distribution boxes have slotted holes at its base, with the goal of providing the adjustment of
alignment with the drive shaft.
5.3.7 - Maintenance of Ratchets
The set of ratchet wheel receives the transmission and performs the transmission to the drive shaft of fertilizer
and seed feeders. It has springs and gears system with a locking system to cushion the impacts of transmission, func-
tioning as a fuse preventing further damage to other assemblies.
For replacement of damaged components is necessary to remove the hex axle and make the disassembly
of the same. Note the spring pressure and the wear of the components of the coupling system, the replacement of the
same make when submitting damage. Keep the coupling system always lubricated.
5.3.8 - Maintenance of current Gear
Maintenance of roller chains, or the installation, several precautions should be taken, which help increase the
life of the entire transmission system. Below is the basic information for installing the chains.
a) The transmission system must be completely stopped;
b) Use personal protective equipment;
c) Support the current and parts to prevent unwanted movement;
d) Use fixing devices suitable and in good condition to assemble and disassemble the chains;
e) Never use chains on a new system of gears worn;
f) Do the gears rotate (turn the side opposite the drawing point);
g) Place seams and pin in order to drive current;
h) Align the chain and gears correctly;
i) Lubricate the chains every day;
j) At the end of the season remove the chains, make them tidy and store in an oil bath fine.
There are two types of chain links, the connecting link reduction and splicing (Fig. 096). The bond reduction is
a combination of external and internal link within a single bond, used when the number of chain links is odd “A”. splicing
the link is a link external party is being pressed on the outer plate and the other is removable, has cotter model “B”,
elastic clip “C” and stick “D”.
e) Write the replacement of the item damaged or worn display;
f) Perform the assembly again in reverse these guidelines.
