6.4.2 Tools required
In order to disassemble the pump, you need these tools:

Bearing puller
•
Brass drift punch
•
Cleaning agents and solvents
•
Dial indicators
•
Feeler gauges
•
Hex wrenches
•
Hydraulic press
•
Induction heater
•
Leveling blocks and shims
•
Lifting sling
•
Micrometer
•
Rubber mallet
•
Screwdriver
•
Snap-ring pliers
•
Torque wrench with sockets
•
Wrenches
•
Lifting eyebolt (dependent on pump / motor size)
6.4.3 Drain the pump
CAUTION:
•
Risk of physical injury. Allow all system and pump components to cool before han-
dling.
•
If the pumped fluid is non-conductive, drain and flush the pump with a conductive fluid
under conditions that will not allow for a spark to be released to the atmosphere.

Leave the drain valve open and remove the drain plug located on the bottom of the pump hous-
ing.
Do not reinstall the plug or close the drain valve until the reassembly is complete.

Remove the coupling guard.
6.4.4 Remove the coupling
Remove the coupling in accordance with the recommendations of the coupling manufacturer.
6.4.5 Remove the back pull-out assembly
WARNING:
Lifting and handling heavy equipment poses a crush hazard. Use caution during lifting and
handling and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE, such as steel-toed
shoes, gloves, etc.) at all times. Seek assistance if necessary.
1.
Is your bearing frame oil lubricated?
•
If No: Proceed to step 2.
•
If Yes:
1.
Remove the bearing-frame drain plug (903.51) in order to drain oil from the bear-
ing frame.
2.
Replace the plug after the oil is drained.
