7.3.1.3 Cleaning the Liquid System

Cleaning the

Liquid System

To prevent growth of micro-organisms in the liquid system, we recommend

cleaning the liquid system once a week. Depending on your application you can

fill the system with one of the following agents (water is used as system liquid):



Mild detergent



Weak acid and base in sequence



Disinfectant

Note:

If a system liquid other than de-ionized water is used, clarify the suitability

of the cleaning agents with the manufacturer.

To fill the liquid system and allow the agent to react, proceed as follows:

Place the tubing in a bottle with the cleaning agent and flush the liquid system

twice.

Refer to cross references above.

Allow the cleaning agent to react for at least 10 minutes.

Place the tubing in a bottle with distilled or de-ionized water and flush the

liquid system twice.

Refer to cross references above.

Flush the liquid system eight times with system liquid.
