Checking the Ribbon

Make sure that the ribbon is not torn or twisted and is on the ribbon path.

If the ribbon is bent, slackened, or twisted around the roller, put it back
on the ribbon path.

If the ribbon in sticking out of the ribbon brake, tighten it. If the ribbon is
sticking out at all, it might slip during printing, causing a jam.

If the ribbon is torn or old, go to 2.8, “Replacing the Ribbon” on
page 2-33.

After checking the ribbon, close the ribbon cassette cover.

Pull the platen open lever toward you and close the platen.

Close the set cover.

You have finished checking the ribbon.
