6.Maximum Printing Width Selects maximum horizontal printable area on one
line.
Note: Printing at 13.6 inches (345 mm) can only be performed if supported
by the software.
7.Buzzer: Selects whether the buzzer sounds continuously or intermittently when
a paper or ribbon jam occurs or when the platen is released.
8.Skip Perforation: Selects whether or not perforations are skipped.
Note: When skipping perforations, set the default page length to the form
length that is used.
This function causes the form to skip from the bottom of a page to the top of
the next page. The amount skipped is 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) or 1.0 inch (25.4
mm).
If the function is selected, the printable vertical length of the form becomes
shorter, but printing over the perforations can be avoided while printing on
continuous pages without format feed (form feed) control code.
Note: Printing over the perforations might cause printing problems.
9.Uni-direction printing: Selects whether the printer accepts the uni-direction
printing control code. If "IGNORE" is selected, the printer can only print in
the uni-direction mode, regardless of the software used.
10. Ribbon Pre-alarm: Number of printings until "REPLACE RIBBON" is displayed.
Changes the number of printings between 50% and 200% at intervals of
10% until "REPLACE RIBBON" is displayed.
11.Copy Enhance: Used to enhance copy capability. Set to darken characters on
a form. For more information, see 2-15.

12.SBCS Font: Selects a font from nine types of fonts.
13.Font Rotate: The IBM 5400-006 printer can print vertical characters.
14.Overlap Area: If you have selected a line pitch of 8 lpi (narrower than 7.5 lpi),
specify a character image overlap process. Selecting “ERASE WRITE”
deletes upper areas of character images, and selecting “OVERWRITE” prints
images laid over those on the upper line.
14.Image Wrap: Allows you to determine whether the image data exceeding the
maximum print position is printed on the next line after automatic insertion of
a line feed or if it is discarded.
15.Level E Function: If your software is not compatible with the level E function,
cancel the level E function. In most cases, select “SET”.
17.Code Page: Selects whether to use code 938 or 948.
17.Grid Line Print: Select “5577-F01”.
18.OCR-B Style: Use style 1.
20.Character pitch Specify whether to use the PC CPI or choose from
10/12/13.3/15CPI. The character pitch of half the characters specified CPI
are alphanumeric.
