Starting and Stopping Printing

 

 

2.4 Starting and Stopping Printing

The IBM 5400-006 printer must be in not ready status before you perform test
printing, cancel printing, change print modes, initialization, or replace the form or
ribbon. If the Start lamp is on, other switches are not enabled. 
Press Stop to enable the other switches.

2.4.1 Stopping and Restarting Printing

To stop printing, press Stop.

After the current page is printed, the Start lamp turns off to indicate that the printer
is in the not ready status. You can also press Stop to turn off the alarm.

If an error message is displayed in the LCD, see: Chapter 3, “Problem Determi-
nation Procedure.”

To continue printing, press Start.

If the start lamp does not turn on after you press Start, the cause of the printing
interruption might not have been resolved. Resolve the problem according to
Chapter 3, “Problem Determination Procedure.”
