Connecting to the Host System

1.3.2 Connecting to a PC (Using a Parallel Port)

The default format is for connecting to an AS/400 system. After setting the inter-
face port format item to a parallel port, connect the interface cable.

Interface Cable (Printer Cable)

Printer cable is sold separately

– ID# 81X7875 (2.4 m)
– ID# 09F5544 (5.0 m)

The printer cable has 36 pins on the printer side and 25 pins on the system
side. A 36

∼

36 pin cable cannot be used.

Interface Port Settings

Change the printer connection to PC.

Connect the power cord to the outlet and set the Power switch to the (

) side.

The power turns on. (See 2.3.1, “Powering On” on page 2-9.)
