Appendix D. ESC/P-C Mode and ESC/P-C Control Modes

IBM 5400-006 printers have the function to emulate ESC/P. This function can be
used by selecting the ESC/P emulation mode.

For more information on ESC/P control codes, see the 

ESC/P Reference Manual.

D.1 Initialization for ESC/P-C

Mode

Initialization for ESC/P-C mode:

When using the printer under ESC/P-C mode, connect the printer to the IBM
PC or RS/6000, and install the ESC/P-C printer driver in the operating system
or on the system unit.

Ÿ

Select ESC/P for the emulation choice during printer initialization.

For information on initialization, see 2.12, “Initializing the Printer” on page 2-65.
