Reference: When a 1-character bar code symbol is printed within 13.6 inches
at the following settings, the maximum NBW value is obtained for each
setting as listed below.
Setting NBW : WBW = 1 : 3
NSW = NBW + 16
WSW = WBW + 16
CGP = NSW
CODE39 NBW = 96ð (12ð dots, about 16.8 mm)
INDUSTRIAL 2 OF 5 NBW = 1624 (2ð3 dots, about 28.4 mm)

character) are necessary to validate a bar code symbol. In this case, at the
setting above, the maximum NBW value is equal to 464 (58 dots, about 8.1
mm).
At EAN reduction, seven data characters, one check digit, space, left and right
bars, and center bar are necessary to validate a bar code symbol. In this case,
at the setting above, the maximum NBW value is equal to 248 (31 dots, about
4.3 mm).
At EAN standard, 12 data characters, one check digit, space, left and right
bars, and center bar are necessary to validate a bar code symbol. In this case,
at the setting above, the maximum NBW value is equal to 168 (21 dots, about
2.9 mm).
