8.6 EtherCAT Master V3
For the EtherCAT Master protocol, the communication LEDs
RUN
and
ERR
as well as the Ethernet LEDs
LINK
and
ACT
can assume the states
described below. This description is valid from stack version V3.0.

LED State
Definition
Blinking
(2,5 Hz)
The indicator turns on and off with a frequency of 2,5 Hz:
“on” for 200 ms, followed by “off” for 200 ms.
Flickering
(10 Hz)
The indicator turns on and off with a frequency of 10 Hz: “on” for 50 ms, followed by “off” for 50
ms.
Single flash
The indicator shows one short flash (200 ms) followed by a long “off“ phase (1,000 ms).
Flickering (load
dependant)
The indicator turns on and off with a frequency of approximately 10 Hz to indicate high Ethernet
activity: on for approximately 50 ms, followed by off for 50 ms. The indicator turns on and off in
irregular intervals to indicate low Ethernet activity.
