8.9  Replacing the Cleaning Cartridge E

Turn the green lever (A)
at the centre of the
transfer module to the
right until it is in the
horizontal position.  Then
pull out the transfer
module (B).

The cleaning cartridge is very

hot.  Wait for it to cool

considerably before you

proceed.  The handle at the

centre of the cleaning cartridge

will reach a safe temperature

(about 70°C) 20 minutes after the

transfer module is pulled out.

Press the orange E
buttons, as shown in the
diagram on the right.
The buttons are located
on top of the fuser unit.

Do not touch areas on or near

the fuser unit that are affixed

with the label Hot Surface.  You

can get burnt as a result.

Open the side of the
cleaning cartridge via the
orange handle at the
centre, as shown in the
diagram on the right.

The shutter will close once the

cleaning cartridge is removed.

The cleaning cartridge remains

very hot on the inside even

though its exterior has cooled

down.  Do not touch areas

besides the handle.

Pull the cleaning cartridge straight

out.  If it were pulled out incorrectly,

it  may cause injury or damage the
cartridge.
