7.1.2 When other problems occurred
Condition
Check point
No power supply.
The display screen is dark.
Is the plug plugged into the socket?
Troubleshoot Method
Push the plug into the socket properly.
The message “Ready to
copy” is not displayed.
The copies are dirty.
The copies are too dark.
The copies are too light.
Is the power switch at “|” (On)?
Is the plug at the side of the machine
loose?
Is the plug plugged into the socket?
Is the brightness adjustment dial
adjusted too dark?
Is the document glass or the document
cover dirty?
Are messages displayed on the display
screen?
Are the documents of very high
transparency level (e.g transparencies)?
Are the documents coloured, rough-
textured or burnt?
Is the Lighter/Darker value set at Darker?
Are the documents glossy sensitized
paper?
Is the Lighter/Darker value set at Lighter?
Are the copies too light?
Push the plug into the side of the machine
properly.
Switch the power switch to “|” (On).
Push the plug into the socket properly.
Adjust the brightness of the screen display with
the brightness adjustment dial.

Solve the problem by following the instructions
on the display.
If you use documents with high transparency
level, the dirty spots on the document cover will
be copied as well. Place a white paper on the
document before copying.
Clean the document glass or the document
cover.

Either adjust the density level or adjust the
image quality.

Adjust the density level. When copying black
and white documents, select
Pencil Text
(Black) in Text under Original Type.

Moist paper may affect the image quality.
Replace them with new ones.
Is the breaker switch at “|” (On)? Switch the breaker switch to “|” (On).
Glossy sensitized paper tend to stick onto the
document glass and the shadows are copied as
dirty spots on the output. Place a transparent
material like a piece of transparency below the
glossy document.
Note: If the film at the bottom of the document
is copied, select
Lighter in Lighter/Darker.
Parts of the images are not
copied onto some parts of
the paper.
Is the paper moist or damp?
Discard the paper that is unsuitable for use and
replace them with new ones. Is the paper loaded in the tray folded or
wrinkled?
Is the document folded or paste-up?
Folded or paste-up documents may not be
easily placed on the document glass. Place a
stack of paper on the document to flatten it.
