MLC 52 Series MediaLink Controller • Serial Communication
Linked buttons can be identified by their lighter shade of red or green, and
by the destination button number displayed on the linked trigger and
destination buttons. In the example above, pressing the MLC’s projector
ON button also selects the VIDEO button command number.

Repeat steps
3
and
4
for all desired pairs of trigger and destination buttons
that you want to link.
6.
When finished linking buttons, click Return in the lower-right corner of the
Macro screen to return to the Controller (MLC) Config. tab.
Linking buttons in macro mode
If an MLC button was placed in macro mode (see
Selecting macro mode
, earlier in
this section) before you clicked the Macro... button, all the memory block
rectangles in the Trigger section for that button also appear on the MediaLink
MACRO Configuration screen as green or red.
You can still link a button with a macro to another button. Drag the first of the
button’s memory block buttons from the Trigger section to the target memory
block button under Destination. When you press the trigger button, it issues all
its macro commands, then the command on the button to which it is linked.
Removing a link from a button
1
.
Click and drag the linked trigger memory block button to the trash can icon
at the bottom of the Macro screen, and release the button.
2
.
From the pop-up menu that appears, select OK - Remove Link. (If you do
not want to remove the link, select Cancel.)
3
.
If a confirmation prompt appears, click OK to confirm the
unlinking (or Cancel if you do not want to unlink).
Linking buttons in a series (“daisy-chaining”)
You can ”daisy-chain” trigger-destination links together to allow even more
control commands to be sent as a result of one button press.
For example, you could link the projector ON button to the VIDEO button, then
link the VIDEO button to the PC button, as shown in this example:
Macro screen showing the ON button linked to the VIDEO button
(#16), and the VIDEO button linked to the PC button (#8)
